Prelude
In a melancholy mood I sat down at the piano to play Prelude no. 4 or Prelude in E as it is sometimes called by Chopin. I began to play, but couldn't quite remember past the first part, so I got out the sheet music, and decided to clean the dusty keys. Which really needed cleaning as you can see in the photo. But what I thought was worth mentioning here on my blog is that in cleaning the keys one by one starting from the high notes, I had a revelation at what may have inspired this very piece of music - possibly the cleaning of this mighty instrument in the same fashion by the composer himself, as some of the melody can be played just by dancing down the keys one by one, black after white after black. This gave me an even bigger feeling of connection to the song, and also brightened my mood a bit.

Day in and day out at Daycare
I really think Felix loves his new daycare. He gets to paint and draw and eat and play outside and read books and interact with other kids around his age. He has a friend there that Teacher Teri says is his best buddy - Osin (pronounced O-sheen). They laugh and play together all day long - not just the normal squeals of kids interacting, but I guess they giggle together like they are totally on the same page and having a blast. It makes me so happy to hear this and to see my bright-eyed son have that life lust sparkle in his eye at the end of every day, which makes me feel not so bad that I can't be home with him. Here are some photos from Teacher Teri.
Monday!
You know what makes Monday awesome? Starting a new job with a great company, finding a long lost journal that catalogued some serious highs and lows of the last year, seeing Dani's belly get just a bit fuller with our second son and finally hearing Felix say, "Monday" for the first time!
